The party defines itself by the five core policies. So that members and non-members clearly understand what the party stands for, these cannot be changed. At present they are principles the details of which will be decided according to the party constitution

5 BIG PROBLEMS THE COUNTRY FACES
Britain is not a happy country.
Many British people are happy but that is not the same thing.
The country as a whole suffers from a deep malaise and a lack of hope.
How many people can honestly say that are optimistic about the future?
And where can they look within the political classes for an antidote to that lack?
To begin the way forward we need to identify the greatest, most immediate problems we face.
These are the five of these we identify.
