The party defines itself by the five core policies. So that members and non-members clearly understand what the party stands for, these cannot be changed. At present they are principles the details of which will be decided according to the party constitution

Church of England
The disestablished Church of England will retain certain privileges as the formerly established religion of the nation. The Christian religion should remain as the foremost religion to be learned about in schools simply on the basis of tradition. The argument that Christianity should not be taught because few people believe it is ridiculous. Do people believe the stories of Shakespeare? A Biblical education puts people in contact with some profound truths about human nature and with a spiritual side of their own nature. The richness of its language has passed into the English language and enriched it immeasurably in a way other religious texts have not.
